Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to investigate to improve the geotechnical properties of swelling soils the usability lime and fly ash. For this, residential area nearby the Bolu/Yeniçağa Lake is selected for the experimental study. Swell pressure, swell percentage and compressive strength characteristics of the collected sample are determined late the effected lime and Çayırhan fly ash are examined. Samples are improved by adding lime in proportions of 1 %, 3 %, 5 %, 7 %, 9 % and fly ash by %5, %10 swell pressure, swell percentage and compressive strength are obtained. It is found that swell pressure, swell percentage and compressive strength are reduced considerably as the lime proportion is 7%, 9% and fly ash is 10 %.Key Words: Swelling pressure, Swelling percentage, Yeniçağa clays, Fly ash, Lime stabilization,Unaxial compressive strength
