Abstract (EN)
Influence of Breastfeeding, Kangaroo Care and Facilitated Tucking on Pain Reduction During Newborn Infants Receiving Heel Blood Aim: The study was conducted to determine breastfeeding, kangaroo care and the effect of the facilitated tucking on the pain of newborns who were referred to the family health center for heel blood withdrawal. Material and Method: Research was conducted semi-experimental between March 2015-March 2017 at Kütahya Central Evliya Çelebi, Yunus Emre and Zafertepe Family Health Centers. The size of the sample was determined by power analysis. The Newborns were divided into four groups. Babies in the breastfeeding group (n: 35) were breastfeeded five minutes before the procedure and heel blood was taken. The kangaroo care group (n: 35) were positioned five minutes before the procedure and blood transfusion was started. The fetal position group (n: 35), the position was given by investigator and the heel blood was taken. Routine procedure was applied to the control group (n: 35). The data was collected with 'Baby and Mother Introductory Information Form', 'Enterprise Follow-up Form' and 'NIPS'. In evaluating the data; appropriate tests were used. Ethical principles were adhered to in the study. Results: When the demographic characteristics were compared in the study, it was found that only the maternal education level was significantly different (p<0.05). Comparing the physiological parameters between the groups, there was a significant difference between respiration and saturation values before and after the intervention (p <0.05). When the NIPS values were compared, there was statistically significant difference between the groups after intervention and the mean score of pain scores between each group (p<0.05). Conclusion: Breastfeeding, kangaroo care and fetal position were found to be effective in decreasing pain in the study group. Fetal position group mean pain score was lower than the other groups.
