Abstract (EN)

Objective:The purpose this study is to determine the effects of various variables on development by making developmental evaluations of 0-6 years old children who are diagnosed with hearing loss within the scope of Neonatal Hearing Screening Program. Materials and Methods: The research group, 101 babies / children and 50 families with 51 hearing loss and 51 hearing loss who lived in Malatya and Kahramanmaraş between 2018 and 2020 were the sample of the research.General Information Form was applied with DGTT, AGTE.NCSS 2007 program, descriptive statistical methods, Pearson chi-square, Fisher's Exact, Fisher Freeman, Halton test were used for statistical analysis. Mc Nemar test and Kappa compliance level were used to evaluate the compliance. Results:There was no statistically significant difference between the overall results of AGTE in all cases (p> 0.05). There was a statistically significant difference between the DGTT results of the patients according to the condition of hearing loss (p=0.031; p <0.05). The rate of normal DGTT results of cases with hearing loss was significantly lower than those without hearing loss. According to the condition of hearing loss, there was no statistically significant difference between the DGTT "DG" results of the cases (p= 0.052; p> 0.05), whereas the rate of normal DG with hearing loss was significantly lower compared to the cases without hearing loss. The age of diagnosis of patients with normal AGTE "IMG" result was found to be statistically significantly higher than those with normal test results (p=0.040; p<0.05). No significant difference was found between AGTE and DGTT results in children who were diagnosed with hearing loss, who were diagnosed early, who started early special education. The risk factor carrying status of the mother during pregnancy was found to be significantly higher in cases of hearing loss (p <0.01). There was no significant difference between the age, education, employment and income levels of the parents according to hearing loss groups. Conclusion:YİTP has shown that children with hearing loss can be detected early, while the target level in early intervention has not been reached and critical stages in development can be missed. In addition, development screening program should be added to routine programs such as heel blood, vision screening, hearing screening on the SB side.
