Evaluation of parental satisfaction in the neonatal intensive care unit according to mother and father stress and different varables

The study was carried out to evaluate the level of parental satisfaction according to socio demographic characteristics and the stress level of parents whose baby were treated in the neonatal intensive care unit.The research, which was carried out in a descriptive relationship-seeking type, was carried out through an online questionnaire. It was applied to 285 parents whose babies were hospitalized in Zonguldak Bülent Ecevit University and Woman and Children's Hospital Neonatal Intensive Care Unit between May and December 2021. Data were collected with the "Socio-demographic Data Form", "Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Parental Stress Scale" and "Neonatal Intensive Care Parent Satisfaction Scale". SPSS 22.0 statistical package program was used in the analysis of the data.It was coucluded that the stress levels of the parents decreased after hospitalization in the neonatal intensive care unit, and the satisfaction of the parents increased. It was found that the stress level of the parents differed according to the type of family, the number of children, and the smoking status. While parental satisfaction levels did not verified according to variables such as gender, marital status, social security status, chronic disease, it was found that itverified according to variables such as age groups, educational status, economic status, working status, family type, and birth type.
