In this study, the importance of converting the power plant into a hybrid system by combining the two sources in order to close the energy production deficiency caused by the intermittent and seasonal nature of renewable energy sources is emphasized. In this study, Çaypınar Wind/Solar Hybrid Power Plant, which was established and operated in Balıkesir, was selected as an example hybrid power plant. The reason for choosing this power plant is that it is the only power plant in our country where all the units installed as main source and auxiliary source have been put into operation and started production at full capacity for a year. In this respect, it is thought that the thesis study will create an important perspective on the renewable energy sector. The values that this power plant can theoretically produce were calculated separately for wind and solar and compared with real-time production data. Additionally, efficiency and capacity factor calculations were made for wind and solar. The efficiency for wind was calculated as 44.69% and for solar was 81.49%. While the capacity factor for wind was calculated as 37.62% and the capacity factor for solar was 14.58%, the efficiency of the hybrid power plant was 46.48% and the capacity factor was 33.61%. In other words, after the power plant was converted to a hybrid power plant, its efficiency increased but its capacity factor decreased. When an hour-based analysis is made, it is seen that by turning into a hybrid, the number of hours in which the power plant is not in operation decreases and the power plant has become operational.
