Abstract (EN)

Today, the sources of fossil fuel-based production routes are being depleted day by day and cause environmental pollution. The limited fossil resources lead us to renewable energy sources. Production with renewable energy sources brings with it the problem of changing global climate conditions. Since renewable energy sources such as solar and wind have different production profiles during the day, they cannot respond quickly and reliably to fluctuating demand. This brings with it the issue of storing energy in order to benefit from energy more efficiently and continuously. In this thesis, the effect of energy storage system on system stability in power systems based on renewable energy has been analyzed. The possible faults in power systems are created and the reactions of the systems in the face of these faults are examined. Simulations in Matlab program; Rotor angle, frequency and voltage stability analyzes were carried out by using real-time generation profiles and codes developed over Hadi Saadat's program, which is considered the basis for stability analysis. In the test systems operated, an EDS(Energy storage system) that is in the discharge state at the time of failure in the system increases the stability of the system, improves frequency and voltage stability, while generally negative results are obtained in rotor angle stability. In addition, it was observed that by increasing the power of the energy storage system, the stability time of the system against failure generally increased compared to the low power EDS. The system remained stable except for the modification in which the solar generation unit was used with EDS in terms of rotor angle and frequency stability. It has been observed that the fault created at the far point of the production units does not drag the system into instability. In general terms; It has been observed that the power value of the storage system, the value of the inertia constant, the value of the solar and wind generation units, the industrial and household load values, the location and type of the fault in the system, the choice of charge and discharge hours of the EDS affect the stability.
