Evaluation of archeology in innovative history education

The aim of this study arises from the evaluation process of the archeology science which is in social sciences with an innovative and constructivist approach in history an social sciences teaching the contents of the course and the curriculum and to what extent archeologu based subjects, concepts and acquisitions exist and the impact area of archeology in history and social studies courses are dıscussed. The necessity of archeology to gain more place in innovative history teaching aooroaches in contrast to traditional education approaches by emphasizing the reflections of arceheology discipline in history course contents and curriculum is stated in this study. The impacts of the existence of the archeological subjects, concepts and acquisitions within the course contents on permanent historical learning are axplained. İt is aimed to transfer the effects of the disciplines of history and archeology together with the classroom environment and the places except from school on evidence-based learning with educationa dimensions. Document analysis related to the research was conducted by using sources, documents and data in turkey and abroad the data optained were scanned an a certain level and revealed the necesity of giving archeology more place in history and social studies courses for providing the students with permanent history and social sciences course contents in Turkey, England, Germany's Thuringia State was compared and examined in line with the innovative history approach. Archeology activities an studies and the permanency of historical imagery in the lessons are emphasized as a result of the wide existence of the archeology axis and its impact area in te innovative history education programs it is sean that the student gain historical traces of preserving historical values, benefiting from national and global history, and historical consciousness deeply from the ages Key Words : Archeology, Constructivist Approach, History, Teaching History
