Abstract (EN)
With the growth of industry and the development of technology, the need for raw materials has increased. In order to meet this raw material demand, the ore must be mined from the open pits in the most efficient way. An open pit with high slope angle leading to a reduced overburden removal, is simply considered to be an efficient operation. However, high slope angles bring about slope stability problems. The data collected for slope stability studies and design planning for the operation of the mine under economic conditions is of great importance at this stage. The geological-geophysical characteristics of the operation area should be defined for proper design and dimensioning, discontinuities should be determined and the groundwater situation should be well established. In this study, the effects of changes in groundwater level on slope stability were investigated by using time dependent flow analysis with numerical modeling methods.
