Thesis)Hamdi Taner ÖZELERGAZ UNIVERSITYINSTITUTE OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGYApril 2006ABSTRACTIn this study, Front axle and steering system of the agriculture vehiclecalled ?PAT PAT? produced by local small workshop and commonlyused, particularly in Afyon-Çobanlar, Isparta, Kırıkkale and other ruralregions have been examined in the light of today?s applications ofsteering system of automotive engineering and required correctionsand improvments have been designed.The study is based on both studying and measuring on themanufactured and manufacturing stage of ?PAT PAT? in the smallindustry place of Afyon?s Çobanlar couny and knowledges taken from alocal firm produced the pickup truck or lorry.With this study, the steering system of ?PAT PAT? has been calculatedin accordance with Ackermann Geometry and Ackermann 2th principle.Revised design has been applied by a previously mentioned worhshopand it has been stated that results are positives to us.viThis study can be evaluated as the heart of a written source for thedesign improvment works to be done on ?PAT PAT? vehicles.Science Code : 914. 1.091Key Words : Automotive Design , AutomotiveEngineering, Automotive SteeringDesignPage Number : 61Adviser : Prof. Dr. Ya ar T.
