Abstract (EN)

Gender segregation in business life may manifest itself as the exclusion of women from prefessional working lifedue to their sex and sometimes mobbing stemmed from the working conditions and the attitudes of other employees. Gender means the acceptance of the traditionally expected female roles and the framing women in a narrow space with the identification of sexes in prejudices. Therefore, it is possible to express gender segregation as a kind of "new racism". Mobbing as one of the chronic problems in business lifewhich is one of the important difficulties faced by women in all working status from bottom to top, can be shown up in each place of business, especially in service industry. Mobbing towards women causes women to remain in "unprotected structures" in "labor civilization".The main problem is that women who continue to take their places in the business life and reinforce that are forced to undergo mobbing and to be seen in secondary status. In order to overcome the difficulties faced by women based on gender-based segregation and mobbing, enterprises and non-governmental organizations should take the initiative as a method of struggle. Furthermore, it is considered that awareness raising and more effective combat tools should be put into operation in the legal field. In this study, mobbing and gender segregation of women working in local printed media in Antalya province have been investigated. In this sense, in-depth interviews have been conducted with six female and six male journalists through semi-structured interview questions. As a result of the research, it has been found that female journalists are exposed to mobbing and gender discrimination and it has been observed that women try to struggle with this situation individually.
