E-municipal applications in local governments: Tekirdağ Metropolitan Municipality example

Nowadays, technological change is taking place rapidly. In this sense, technology that has a important place in service industry affects the states, institutions and individuals as well. There is an evident relationship between speed and efficiency of services and advances in technology. One of the examples of this situation e-Municipality which is an extension of e-government practice. In this context, the study deals with e-Municipality practice, which is a new communication and service tool. The operation of the system and the service tools contained in it are explained. In this direction, the research focuses first on local governments and then on the concepts of e-government and e-Municipality. Survey application is the last part of the research. Citizens are asked various questions about e-manicipality and investigate whether it serves the objectives it has. Analysis of the data was achieved through the SPSS program. Finally, hypotheses have been tested in the light of these data. Key words: E-Government, E-Municipality, Local Government, Information Systems
