Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine at what level local governments use new media within the framework of environmental activities. In this direction, the definitions, development and characteristics of new media, local governments, environmental concepts are discussed. Then, content analysis was applied to the new media environments of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, which was determined as the study area, and a survey study was carried out to support the analysis. As a result of the study, an idea was obtained about the new media usage and interaction level of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality.
