Abstract (EN)

The concept of sustainability has emerged in order to reduce the increasing energy use in the world and the effects of this use on both nature and humans. The construction sector, which constitutes a large part of energy consumption, has also decided to take measures in this regard over time. Therefore, green building certificates have emerged. Within the scope of the research, BREEAM, LEED and WELL certificates, which are among the leading certification systems in the world, were examined. The requirements, criteria, ratings, references, evaluation methods of these certification systems were examined and their similarities and differences were revealed. In these contexts, firstly, the concept of sustainability and green buildings and green building certification systems that emerged in this direction were explained. Then, the main titles and scores of BREEAM, LEED and WELL certification systems are given and sub-titles are explained. Finally, in line with all the explanations made, these three certification systems have been compared from different aspects and their similarities and differences have been revealed.
