EVALUATION OF INDOOR ENVIRONMENTAL QUALITY BY THE USER INTHE GREEN BUILDING CERTIFICATED RESIDENTIAL PROJECTS

Unconscious use of natural resources around the world, climate change, the negative effects of global warming, become a threat and recently increased the studies and practices on the concept of "Green Building". Green Buildings are environmentally friendly buildings designed by using natural resources efficiently. Green Building Certification Systems have emerged during the certification process follow-up, dissemination and promotion of sustainability characteristics of these structures. There are many Green Building Certification Systems use in the World currently. Among these systems, the LEED Certificate System which is developed by the United States Green Building Council (USGBC) and used extensively throughout the world construction sector is also frequently preferred in the construction sector of Turkey. Standards and conditions are met in many areas with scores such as energy efficiency, water efficiency, material and resource quality, sustainable land. Within the scope of the research, LEED Certificate Construction System V3 version applications which are continuously developed and revised depending on the changing conditions are discussed. Green Building Certificate Systems and Leed Certificate System were explained in detail and LEED Green Building Certificate System was evaluated on the basis of Interior Quality. The applications in the first LEED Gold Certified Residential Project Park Mosaic Residences in Ankara, which was selected as a case study, were analyzed. In order to evaluate the applications and the conditions provided in the context of the certificate by the user, a questionnaire has been made as evaluation of the indoor environmental quality by the user was conducted in green building certified housing projects. As a result of the researches and analyzes, it has been concluded that the Leed evaluation criteria should be considered as a whole integrated with the users as of the implementation phase of the green buildings. On the other hand, users should be more informed about the criteria of green buildings and certification systems and be informed about the operation and control of these systems.
