Bibliometric analysis of quality indicators in green buildings

ABSTRACT This thesis aims to determine the quality indicators in green buildings and to reveal the status of these indicators in the relevant scientific literature through bibliometric analysis. In the study, 35 quality indicators were specified by examining the green building literature in detail. These indicatos divided into four main groups according to their content: (1) Environmental quality indicators, (2) Economic quality indicators, (3) Social quality indicators, and (4) User satisfaction indicators. VOSviewer software was used for bibliometric analysis of quality indicators in green buildings and article citation analysis, the effectiveness of countries, effectiveness of the journals and co authors with co-author analysis were revealed. With common word analysis, research gaps, frequency of co-occurrence of keywords, and their actuality were determined. According to the findings, it has been determined that there are not enough papers examining social quality indicators in green buildings in the relevant scientific literature. In environmental quality indicators, it was determined that the research focus was energy efficiency and materials, but there were research gaps on safety, construction time, waste management, function, soil pollution, quality of construction systems, context, concept, water management, form, and local material use indicators. In the economic quality indicators, while the research on the cost indicator is more, it has been seen that there are research gaps in the return on investment and profitability indicators. In terms of user satisfaction indicators, the research focus is on indoor air quality, thermal comfort, and lighting, but research gaps have been detected in acoustic comfort, environmental control, well-being, maintenance, cleanliness, and accident rate indicators.
