Determining factors affecting green entrepreneurship intention: A research on university students

Green entrepreneurship involves addressing environmental issues and having a positive impact, such as the use of environmentally friendly inputs, clean production processes, waste management and recycling. In other words, it goes beyond just protecting the environment; includes approval of suppliers, procurement of materials and clean processes. The main purpose of the study is to reveal the effect of these factors on the green entrepreneurship intention of university students in the research model created based on the Value Identity Norm Model and to determine the regulatory effect of factors such as family, education, government and institution support. A face-to-face questionnaire was applied to 475 students, who were determined by convenience sampling method from four universities in Mersin province and participated voluntarily. The obtained data were analyzed within the scope of partial least squares structural equation model using the SmartPLS 4 program. As a findings of the analyzes it was revealed that biospheric values, environmental self-identities, personal norms and green entrepreneurial self-efficacy have a significant effect on university students' green entrepreneurial intentions. In addition, it has been determined that environmental self-identities and personal norms have a mediating role on green entrepreneurship intention, and education, university, country and family support have a nonsignificant moderating role. It is thought that the results will provide useful information for students, universities and companies.
