Abstract (EN)

In the globalizing world, the rapid consumption of resources and the intense competitive environment make it necessary for companies to give due importance to human resources and follow environmentally friendly policies. Green human resources management aims to increase employees' awareness of environmental issues, reduce the environmental impacts of businesses, and raise employees' awareness of environmental sustainability. The main purpose of this study is to raise awareness of green human resources management in Turkey and to identify and prioritize the obstacles to green human resources management. For this purpose, mixed method was applied in this thesis, benefiting from the subjective opinions of 12 human resources experts. Firstly, through qualitative questions, human resources experts' opinions on important issues such as their awareness of green human resources management and the proficiency levels of green human resources management in Turkey and the world were obtained. Secondly, by conducting a comprehensive literature review, 5 main obstacles and 21 sub-obstacles were identified, and the identified obstacles were prioritized by 12 human resources experts using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, which is a Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM) method. As a result of the research, the majority of the participants have knowledge about green human resources management, the identified obstacles to green human resources management are sufficient and comprehensive, green human resources management is effective in solving environmental concerns, but it is not sufficient on its own, and the proficiency levels of green human resources management practices in Turkey and the world are low. It was concluded that it was low. When the obstacles were prioritized with the AHP method, "Economic Obstacle" was determined as the most important main obstacle. Additionally, when the sub-obstacles were evaluated, it was determined that the most important sub-obstacles were "Insufficient Financial Resources" (E1), "Existence of Financial Constraints" (E2) and "Excessive Implementation Expenditures" (E3).
