Abstract (EN)
This study aims to determine the relationship between green purchasing practices and environmental and economic performances. The research, which was based on 455 companies from 57 cities in Turkey, was handled in line with the Resource Dependency Theory. Convenience sampling, one of the random sampling techniques, was used to select the research sample. The study data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed with SPSS and AMOS package programs. Reliability, validity, exploratory factor, confirmatory factor, correlation and regression analyzes were applied to the obtained data. Statistical analysis proved that the reliability coefficients and factor loads were at a reasonable level. As a result of the regression analysis, it was concluded that green purchasing practices positively affect the environmental and economic performances of the companies. However, supplier development and evaluation practices did not have a significant effect on environmental performance. It has been concluded that environmental performance positively affects economic performance and compensates for the partial mediating effect on the relationship between green purchasing practices and economic performance in this way. The mediating effect of environmental performance has not been determined only on the relationship between supplier development and economic performance. An original scale of green purchasing practices was developed within this study. The originality of the scale lies it was based on the dynamics of the companies in Turkey and presents a measurement tool to fill the gap in the literature on this subject.
