Abstract (EN)

As a result of increasing consumption of humankind and technological developments, compare to 20 years ago, manufacturers may offer their products to the market with bigger quantities and in a shorter lead-time. As there is not enough demand against increasing supply, it becomes inevitable to be competition in market. Besides end users' awareness and sensibility is much more than before. Thus, manufacturers should control their all process from cradle to grave. Especially in last decade, consumers prefer more "green product" due to increasing environmental awareness. Manufacturers, who wants to respond that preference, should make their all supply chain green. The first step of this process is purchasing and supplier selection. This paper examines green purchasing and green supplier selection subjects, which are attracted attention by both academic researchers and manufacturers. In first chapter, some information is given on environment and environmental problems. Green supply chain concept, which has born as a result of legal regulation, standards, directives and academic researches, is examined with its sub disciplines. In second chapter, lots of academic research, sectorial report and non-governmental organizations' reports, which are published between 1995-2014, are collected and examined on green purchasing and supplier selection, one of the most important sub disciplines of green supply chain. As a consequence of this examination, a multi criteria decision-making model is proposed for green supplier selection and then it is application is carried out by the help of software.
