Examination of the relationship between astrological personality traits of adults and the quality of their object relations and Jung's psychological types

ABSTRACT ​The aim of this study is to examine the relationship between the Astrological Personality Traits of adults, Jung's Psychological Types, and the Quality of Object Relations. The study investigates the association of Sun and Ascendant signs, representing Astrological Personality Traits, with the subdimensions of Alienation, Insecure Attachment, Egocentrism, and Social Inadequacy, as well as their relationship with Psychological Types. A total of 294 adults living in Turkey, aged between 18-65, and literate, participated in the study, including 185 women (62.9%) and 109 men (37.1%). Data collection tools included the Sociodemographic Data Form (SDF), the Bell Object Relations and Reality Testing Inventory (BORRTI), and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). Statistical analyses were performed using IBM SPSS version 26. According to the findings, no significant relationship was found between the quality of object relations, psychological types, and astrological personality traits of adults. However, pairwise analyses revealed significant differences in the comparison of object relations quality and psychological types among certain astrological sign groups. In conclusion, although the quality of object relations and psychological types did not show a significant relationship with all astrological sign groups, some sign groups differed significantly from others.
