Abstract (EN)
The development of mobile devices and mobile internet in the last decade has led to significant changes in daily routines of individuals and the method in which companies operate. Considering from Banking Sector, that changing has actualized in the form of the emergence of mobile banking distribution channel. Especially in Turkey, mobile banking applications that enable customers to conduct their banking transactions anytime and anywhere, have reached a high level of usage. In this study, it has been aimed to determine the factors that might be effective in adopting mobile banking applications of adult individuals in Turkey. This study has focused on the fact that the usage rate of mobile banking in Turkey is at a high level. Therefore, the reasons for the adoption of the individuals who currently use mobile banking have been analyzed. Within this scope, a survey was conducted for individuals who are 25 years old and older using mobile banking applications. The sentences applied in the survey were based on "Unified Technology Acceptance and Use Theory", one of the theories has been developed to explain technology acceptance in the literature. In addition to the variables involved in this theory, personal innovativeness and trust variables are included in the research model. The methodology of this research is constructed as a quantitative analysis. Sentences, belonging to the variables by designed research model by Likert-type 5 point scales, are given by the survey form to the respondents. After incomplete or contradictory surveys are eliminated, 280 usable surveys have been retained. In this study, it is found that "performance expectation", "facilitating conditions", "personal innovativeness" and "trust" variables significantly influence behavioral intentions of respondents' adoption of mobile banking applications. The behavioral intention, however, is not affected by effort expectation and social influence.
