Investigation of effects on online self–efficacy perception and academic achievement of an online learning enviroment used in adult education

The research topics of the study can be divided into 3 sections: (1) Effectiveness of a distance education proecess with adult participants (2) online self-efficacy perception of the study group and (3) views of the study group about the process. An academic achievement test related to both distance education and formal education contents, an online technologies self-efficacy scale and a feedback form with open-ended questions were used as data collecting instruments in order to reach the aims of the study. The study group was consisted of the experts participating in the certificate program for getting Occupational Safety Specialist (OSS) and Occupational Physicians (OP) certificates. As a result of the analysis, in terms of online self-efficacy, the OSS group results showed positive and significant differences , the OP group results showed no significant differences and between the two groups results in online technologies self-efficacy post test scale showed no significant differences. According to the achievement test results, The OP group results showed positive and significant differences in the distance and formal education process, the OSS group only in the distance education process showed positive and significant differences. Additionally, the most of participants were positive approach to distance learning process, the others prefered formal education. The study findigns are examined, firstly observed that distance learning process was significantly differentiate the academic achievement of the participants in a positive way, and the blended learning model has effected online self-efficacy perception in a positive way.
