Abstract (EN)

In this study; the relationship between chronic diseases, childhood traumas and psychological well-being levels was examined. Childhood Trauma Scale and Psychological Well-Being Scale were administered to the participants. In addition, some demographic information about the participants was collected through the Sociodemographic Information Form. The research sample; It consists of 343 people, including 163 people with hypertension, diabetes, coronary artery, cancer, chronic kidney failure and any other chronic disease forming the Case Group, and 180 healthy volunteers forming the Control Group. All statistical data of the research were evaluated and analyzed with the help of SPSS 14.0 program. According to the findings, there was no significant difference between the control and case groups in terms of psychological well-being levels; A significant difference was found in the sub-dimensions of childhood traumas, physical neglect and sexual abuse. Research results show that childhood traumas predict psychological well-being. Besides these; significant relationships were found between the gender, age, education level and marital status of the individuals and their childhood traumas and psychological well-being levels.
