Abstract (EN)
The study aimed to examine the relationship between perceived romantic relationship quality, cognitive flexibility, emotional awareness and psychological flexibility in adults. The study also examined whether perceived romantic relationship quality differed in terms of some personal characteristics (gender, marital status, employment status, education level). The study group consisted of 405 people between the ages of 19 and 51 from different provinces of Turkey. The data of the study were collected with "Perceived Romantic Relationship Quality Scale (PRQS)", "Acceptance and Action Form-2", "Cognitive Flexibility Scale (CRS)" and "Emotional Self-Awareness Scale". In the study, the relationships between perceived romantic relationship quality and cognitive flexibility, emotional self-awareness and psychological flexibility variables were examined by correlation and regression analyses. Independent sample t-Test and One-Way Analysis of Variance were also used to determine whether relationship dependency differs in terms of some personal characteristics. As a result of the study, cognitive flexibility, emotional awareness and psychological flexibility together significantly predict perceived romantic relationship quality. It was determined that perceived romantic relationship quality did not differ significantly according to gender, marital status and employment status.
