Abstract (EN)

Personality is a structure that leaves its mark on almost every aspect of life from the moment an individual exists. Psychological resilience, which enables one to continue on the road more firmly in crisis situations, and religious references, which create a consistent image of religion and spirituality, are also elements affected by personality. Especially in today's world, many undesirable situations such as the easy spread and globalization of all kinds of problems, loneliness, loss of meaning, and economic difficulties make it necessary to focus more on the concept of resilience. Religion and spirituality, on the other hand, offer a wide range of meaning and information to the individual, from crisis situations to the afterlife. Personality, resilience and religious qualities are thought to influence each other. The aim of the study is to reveal the relationship between personality, endurance, and religious attribution and to compare the main variables of the study (personality, endurance, religious attribution) according to demographic variables (gender, marital status, educational status, age, income level, occupational group) and religious life indicators. 472 adults living in Turkey between the ages of 18-65 participated in the research. The scales used in the research were transferred to the online environment and shared with the participants. In the research, ''Psychological Resilience Scale'' developed by Işık (2016); ''5 Factor Personality Scale'', developed by John, Donahue and Kentle (1991) and adapted into Turkish by Sümer and Sümer (2005); The "Religious Attribution Scale" developed by Garey et al. (2018) and adapted into Turkish by Bakır, Vural, Ayten (2024) were used. As a result of the study, a significant and negative relationship was found between neuroticism and resilience, while a significant and positive relationship was found between extraversion, agreeableness, openness to improvement, self-control and resilience. With religious references; There is a significant relationship between personality and resilience. Extraversion, agreeableness, openness to improvement and self-control are significant predictors of resilience, while religious attributions have no predictive effect on resilience. Personality, resilience and religious references; it shows statistically significant differences according to demographic variables and religious life indicators.
