Özet (EN)

Onychopathies, in addition to causing pain and suffering, negatively affect the comfort of daily life by visually disturbing them. It also puts foot health at risk in those with diabetes mellitus, vasculopathy and various chronic diseases. In the study, the data and results of patients who underwent podological approaches to nail pathologies and orthonyxie application were analyzed retrospectively. Findings were compared according to nail pathologies, gender and presence of diabetes mellitus. A total of 486 patients, 300 (61.7%) female and 186 (38.3%) male, were included in the study. Diabetes mellitus was diagnosed in 73 (15.0%) of the cases. In terms of nail pathologies, onychocryptosis was present in 361 (74.2%), onychomycosis 225 (46.2%), onychogryphosis 40 (8.2%) and hypertrophic nail in 237 (48.7%) cases. Among the podological interventions applied for these pathologies, orthonyxie in 324 (66.7%) cases, spiculectomy in 255 (52.5%) cases, nail fungus resection in 193 (39.7%) cases, hypertrophic nail care in 187 (38.5%) cases, kinesiobant in 164 (33.7%) cases application was made. There was no significant difference between the genders in terms of Orthonyxie application rate (p>0.05). It was determined that the rate of getting results from orthonyxie applications was high in patients with diabetes mellitus and complaining of onychocryptosis (p<0.05). A healthy nail structure was obtained in 275 (89.6%) cases with onychocryptosis, 68 (90.0%) cases with onychomycosis and mechanical nail debridement and 110 (84.0%) cases with hypertrophic nails with Orthonyxie applications. Podological interventions eliminate the pain caused by nail pathologies, together with the procedure, increase the comfort of life of the people and provide patient satisfaction at this rate. In onychopathies, it has been observed that the rate of getting results from the treatment is higher in cases followed with orthonyxie methods applied to correct the shape of the nail.
