Abstract (EN)
Masonry buildings constituting an important part of the building stock holds a great legacy from past to present. Being extremely important in terms of their contribution to the cultural heritage, masonry buildings are still preferred due to their low-cost, the geographical characteristics, cultural habits, easy workmanship etc. Masonry buildings also constitute a large part of the building stock in Turkey. When the fact that most of these buildings are historical and traditional buildings with high value in terms of conveying the cultural heritage is taken into account, studies should be carried out in line with the Turkish Regulation on Building and Earthquake in order to examine the current situation of the masonry buildings, which are already constructed or are being constructed, after earthquake and to increase the earthquake safety for masonry buildings to be constructed. The aim of this study is to compare the earthquake-resistant design rules of the Regulation on the Buildings to be Constructed in Earthquake Zones (06/03/2007) and Turkish Regulation on Building and Earthquake (18/03/2018), and determine the differences. Key words: Masonry Buildings, Earthquake, Regulations, Comparison
