Abstract (EN)

Yildiz Palace, the last palace settling of Ottoman Empire, has important values for investigation in terms of formation period and physical features and protection concepts due to the dense usage now. Sultan's Resident, the oldest and the most important structure in the complex, has major parallel lines with the palace settling mostly up to the development at the period of Abdulhamid II. The building is now used as Administration Building in Yildiz Technical University. The main subject of this thesis is this building, also named as Valide Sultan Kiosk. In the introduction part, the scope of work, methodology and the gained information are introduced. This settling has completed its development in the 19 century, because of that in the second part of this thesis, other Istanbul Palaces and European effect on the palaces are considered. Following this part, third part includes the detailed information of historical, architectural and geographical features of the palace. The reconstruction in the building from 1997 up to now drives the building. The analyse of the present condition of the biilding, formed by scientific investigation and documentary, takes place in the fourth part. The results of the investigations which need to be analysed in different aspects in order to have an idea of the period and the present situation are also included in this part. The reconstruction project has been reached as a result of the overall investigations and protection concept.. In the fifth and the last part includes, the evaluate of this thesis and its results have been detailly showed.
