The analysis of written language lexical errors made by the Yıldız Techical University students in the process of learning English as a foreign language

In this M.A. research, the theoretical grounds and specifying nature of the error analysis are studied. To achieve this, the students at Yıldız Technical University, Foreign Languages School, Preparatory Class of 2001 - 2002 Academic Year were taken as the target learner group and an error analysis was conducted on their 1st semester Project homework sheets prepared for their Writing Course. An inventory of these students' errors was made; the problem areas of those learners were determined; these errors were classified; a comment and evaluation for each of these error types were made; and a general approach to EFL was suggested.
