Abstract (EN)
ABSTRACT Nurses in Working Instensive Care, Examining The Applications and Knowledges About The Drug-Drug Interaction Aim: This research was planned to examine the knowledge and applications of drug-drug interactions among nurses working in intensive care unit. Material and Method: This study was carried out between January 2016 and July 2018 with 186 intensive care nurses working in 12 intensive care units in Inonu University Turgut Ozal Medical Center. In the data accumulation "nurse information form", prepared by the researcher " DDI questionnaire", "nurse observation form" were used. The data obtained from the study were evaluated on the computer using frequency and percentage distribution, Chi Square Test. Results: When the drug pairs frequntly encountered in drug-drug interactions by nurses working in intensive care have been examined, it has been determined that %76.3 of them didn't know them. When the drugs applied by the nurses were examined, it was determined that %34.4 of the nurses performed potential drug drug ınteraction. It has been found that the potential drug-drug interactions applied, nurses aren't effective with the status of working staff, the type of study, the duration of study at institution, the duration of study at job, the duration of study at intensive care unit. When the drug-drug interaction practices performed by nurses have been compared (p=0.043) with intensive care units, it has been found to be significantly different between them. Conclusion: It was determined that nurses did not know drug-drug interactions and pairs. It was determined that there were differences in the frequency of drug application among nurses working in intensive care with drug-drug interaction application. It is recommended that nurses be trained about drug-drug interaction. Keywords: Nurse, Drug-Drug Interaction, Unit Care
