Abstract (EN)

This research was carried out in order to select genotypes with superior characteristics in terms of late leafing and yield in the Yomra hazelnut population of Düzce province Merkez and Akçakoca districts in 2020-2021. In the study, 98 Yomra hazelnut genotypes were examined. 20 genotypes were selected as clone candidates according to the results of the 'Weighed Rating Method', which was applied considering the yield, yield, fruit weight, shell thickness, solid core ratio, internal cavity and whitening ratio. Yield value per trunk cross-sectional area of selected clones is 83.25 g/cm2 (81MZ24) to 32.43 g/cm2 (81AA25), kernel ratio is 54.00% (81AA24) to 47.83% (81MZ42), average nut weight is 3.90 g (81MZ47) to 1.82 g (81MZ50), nut size 20.06 mm (81MZ47) to 16.45 mm (81MZ50), nut length 20.43 mm (81MZ47) to 16.75 mm (81MZ50), nut width 20.61 mm (81MZ47) to 16.89 mm (81MZ50), nut thickness 19.18 mm (81MZ47) to 15.75 mm (81MZ50), nut shape index was found between 1.06 (81MZ01), (81MZ09) and 0.96 (81AA05, 81AA08), (81AA13), (81AA15). The genotype 81MZ47 selected in our study has higher nut weight than Turkish hazelnut cultivars. Selected promising clone candidates will be collected in National Hazelnut Genetic Resources.
