Executive development and organizational development: An application in T.C.Ziraat Bank

Due to changes in technology, information being widely available due to globalization, political instability or economic crisis organizations are changing; some of them go out of business, some has to adapt changing business environment in order to stay in competition. In this ever evolving process, the business executives are the ones who need not only adapt to these changes, but they have the full responsibility. Executives hold the power in the organization therefore they have to use executive and organizational development tools to be both successful and effective not only for themselves, but also for the organizations they work for.The goal in this study is to form an opinion that planned working of executives helps better in their own and organization?s development also in its productivity by giving information about being more effective, examining the affects of leadership onto organizational development and arguing about managerial and organizational contributions of managerial grid.In this study, initially executive development and organizational development were handled conceptionally. Afterwards, an implementation in T.C. Ziraat Bankası which is a government owned bank and has a great importance in Turkish banking sector is conducted. Finally, the conclusion is arrived by analyzing the data that executive and organizational development are very important for the success of executive and organization.Keywords : Executive, Organization, Executive Development, Organizational Development, Banking
