The relationship between manager communication competency and communication anxiety and organizational silence

The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between managerial communication competence and communication anxiety and organizational silence, to reveal the current situation and to evaluate whether there is a relationship between managerial communication competence, communication anxiety and organizational silence. In the literature section of the study, the concepts of communication competence, communication anxiety and organizational silence were explained and evaluated with topics such as theories, classifications, dimensions, effects and importance. The study is a quantitative study and is a relational screening study as it aims to reveal the current situation with a survey and to determine the relationship between variables. The sample of the research consists of all academic staff and administrative staff working at Bursa Uludağ University (2021-2022 academic year). In the study, data was obtained from 769 participants, and the analysis of the obtained data was carried out with AMOS 28 and SPSS28 programs within the framework of SEM (Structural Equation Model). As a result of the analyzes made with the data obtained in the study, it was concluded that there was a negative significant relationship between the communication competence of managers and organizational silence. No significant relationship could be detected between communication anxiety and organizational silence.
