Abstract (EN)

Tourism is one of the sectors which has significant contribution to development of Turkey?s economy. Its being a labour ?intensive sector makes person and components related to person more important. The emotional intelligence, out of those components has an increasing importance. However due to hardness of accessing to administrators resulting from sectors general dynamics, researches done up to now has been on employees. So it is assumed that along with job satisfaction and performance, which have been studied on especially in organisations, handling emotional intelligence associating with administrators will be a contribution to administrators in tourism sector and other sectors. The aim of this research is to determine the effect of emotional intelligence level of administrators on their performance and job satisfaction levels. Analysing impact of administrator?s demographical feautures on emotional intelligence, performance and job satisfaction can be defined as the other aim of the research. The poll prepared with this aim was applied to a sample composed of administrators of five star hotels and holiday resorts in Antalya. 178 valid poll forms were collected. Data from the questionnaires were analysed using SPSS 17.0 statictic packed software. In the end of the research it was found out there is a strong relationship between emotional intelligence and job performance that except motivation dimension of EQ and except for emotional awareness, the other dimensions do not have a meaningful effect on performance. The research also showed that none of the aspects emotional intellenge effect job satisfaction.
