A research on managers 'career planning and determining the perception of personal success: Ordu province, Novada Shopping Mall case

Today, the world has taken a new turn with the developments in technology. These changes and developments in the world affect individuals as well as business life. The business world, affected by this change, has started to prefer individuals who are more qualified, more knowledgeable, more idealistic and hard-working. Individuals have started to become more creative and different in order to improve themselves. From this point of view, individuals who have a career goal and make strategic career planning to achieve these goals become more successful and stand out. It is thought that an individual who evaluates his / her personal success well will be more advantageous in reaching his career goals. The purpose of this study is to determine the personal success perceptions of the managers who are in charge of the stores in Novada Shopping Mall in Ordu, which they pay attention to while making their career plans. As a result of the research, be examined whether there is a relationship between career planning and personal success perception, and if there is a relationship, its direction will be revealed. However, determining the career planning and personal success perceptions of the participants and analyzing whether they differ according to their demographic and promotional characteristics constitute another purpose of this study. In order to achieve this goal, a questionnaire was applied to 85 managers at their stores in the Novada Shopping Center in Ordu. The questions prepared regarding the career planning of managers in the study consist of three dimensions: self-evaluation, defining opportunities and determining goals, and questions about managers' perceptions of personal success are composed of three dimensions: taking responsibility, adaptation and perseverance. As a result of this research; It has been observed that managers are able to adapt to changes, think that career will improve themselves, know themselves and their desires, consider their talents when setting goals, know what they need to do to reach their career goals, and set goals while making a career plan. And also; It has been observed that managers have a good command of their work, work hard to fulfill the task assigned to them, perform their job perfectly, cope with the problems that may arise while doing the job, success motivation is important for them and they love to deal with difficult jobs.
