Abstract (EN)
The purpose of this study is to measure the competence of school administrators at neuroleadership and human resources management and determine the correlation between them based on teachers' opinions, and to establish whether there are any significant differences according to the personal variables of teachers' opinions. The study was conducted on 406 teachers employed in state elementary schools in the central district of Bolu. A "Personal Information Form", "Neuroleadership Scale" and "Human Resources Competence Scale for Administrators" were used for collecting data. The Neuroleadership Scale was adapted to Turkish under the study. Arithmetic mean and standard deviation values were analyzed to measure the opinions of elementary school teachers on neuroleadership competence and human resources management competence of school administrators. Since determination of the significance of the difference among the opinions of teachers on the competence of neuroleadership and human resources management does not show a normal distribution, non-parametric tests of Mann Whitney-U Test and Kruskal Wallist Test were used. Spearman Rho Ordering Correlation Coefficient was used in determination of the correlation between neuroleadership and human resources management. The results of the analysis were evaluated at a significance level of p<0.05. Teachers' opinions on administrative neuroleadership competence were found to be "agree" in all sub-dimensions. While teachers' opinions on human resources administrative competence were "unsure" in the sub-dimension of recognition and resolution of human resource, it was "agree" in other sub-dimensions and in the total scale. While the opinions of the teachers on the neuroleadership competence of administrators based on the gender variable showed a significant difference for the sub-dimensions of relatedness and fairness, they did not show any significant difference for the sub-dimensions of status, certainty and autonomy. For the variable of participation in a seminar on leadership, the opinions of the teachers showed a significant difference in the sub-dimensions of status and autonomy while they did not show any significant difference for the sub-dimensions of certainty, relatedness and fairness. For the variable of age, teachers' opinions showed a significant difference in the sub-dimension of relatedness but did not show any significant difference in the sub-dimension of status, autonomy and fairness. For the variable of administrator's age, the opinions of the teachers showed a significant difference in every sub-dimension of neuroleadership. It was found that the administrator's gender, marital status, academic background, number of schools in the administrator's career, and participation in HRM seminars does not cause a difference in the teachers' opinions with regard to the neuroleadership competence of the administrators. For the administrator's gender variable, the teachers' opinions on the administrators' human resources management competence showed a significant difference in the sub-dimensions of human relations and employee satisfaction, they did not show any significant difference in other sub-dimensions of human resources management competence. For the variable of marital status, the teachers' opinions showed a significant difference in the rewarding and evaluation sub-dimensions but did not show any significant difference in other sub-dimensions of human resources management. For the variable of administrator's age, the opinions of the teachers showed a significant difference in every sub-dimension of human resources management competence. For the variables of gender, age, academic background, number of schools in career, the period of service in the current school, participation in HRM seminars, and participation in leadership seminars, the teachers' opinions on the human resources management competence of the administrators did not show a significant difference. Considerably high correlations were found in all sub-dimensions and total scores between the neuroleadership and human resources management scales. An assessment of the correlations between the scales revealed that the highest correlation was between the total HRM and the sub-dimensions of status and relatedness.
