A web based professional foreign language education system design and evaluation in departments of management information systems

Developments in information and communication technologies together with rapidly developing technology conditions increased the importance of web-based education. At the same time, the increasing competition conditions with these developments revealed the need to benefit from online learning environments in addition to the education in the traditional classroom environment. This situation increases the importance of professional foreign language knowledge for undergraduate students. At the same time, due to the fact that information-based courses are included in the Management Information Systems department, it is of great importance to have professional foreign language knowledge and professional terminology in education. In addition, the integration of knowledge of field and professional foreign language in business life contributes to the achievement of the goals of individuals. Within the scope of this thesis, a Web-Based Vocational Foreign Language Education Program has been developed which will contribute to the professional foreign language learning of the undergraduate students of the department of management information systems with the help of the student-instructor-manager cooperation, and to ensure that the time-location independent education activities are conducted outside the classroom environment. The developed application is designed for the web platform. It has also been developed to provide access to the application from all devices. The web-based education application developed within the scope of this thesis enables the students to continue their education outside of the classroom environment, regardless of time and location, so that the education can be sustained. In addition, students contributed to professional foreign language development and professional terminology knowledge. At the same time, it has been concluded that professional foreign language course can be carried out in web environment by using web technologies in class environment and supported by a web based application developed by taking into account the features and content of the course.
