Abstract (EN)
This study aims to investigate the effects of management stages on managers? consumption tendencies. To aim this, according to the several steps of purchasing decision process, consumption tendencies of bank managers are analyzed and compared with respect to the management stages. The consumption tendencies for food, clothing and electronics&computer equipments of managers in chief, vice managers, chiefs and costumer representatives working at bank branches located in Kütahya city center are taken in to the scope of the research. In the study, a total of 24 hypothesis, fourteen of which are related to purchasing decision process, seven of which are related to spending and saving amounts and three of which are related to unplanned (impulse) purchasing tendency, are conducted. A 41-item questionairre to obtain data needed to investigate research topics. The reliability analyse of the questionairre yielded the Cronbach Alpha value as 0,74 which means the questionairre is reliable and can be used in the research. The questionairre is applied to 7 managers in chief, 19 vice managers, 28 chiefs and 14 costumer representatives working at bank branches located in Kütahya city center. The One-Way Analyse of Variance (ANOVA) technique is used to test the research hypotheses. In addition, Tukey grouping technique is performed for accepted hypothesis to determine the differences between groups. Nineteen of 24 hypotheses are rejected while five of them are accepted. Research findings showed that management stages have statistically significant effect on managers? food and clothing spendings and savings amounts. Research findings also showed that the unplanned purchasing tendencies of managers for food and clothing products significantly differentiate with respect to management stages.
