Abstract (EN)
The aim of this research is to identify the traditional children's games passed down from generation to generation in the Yörük culture. Additionally, it aims to examine the types, functions, and content characteristics of the games transferred between generations. In a research study conducted using the qualitative research method, the phenomenology design was employed. In-depth interview technique was used for data collection. After obtaining the necessary permissions, in-depth interviews were conducted with a total of 42 participants, with 14 participants from each of three different generations. During the interviews, audio recordings were taken, and each interview was subsequently transcribed into written form. The transcribed data were first coded as K (Baby Boomers), K1.1 (Generation Y), and K1.1.1 (Generation Alpha) games. The games played within each generation were categorized under the themes of "similar and different games." The data obtained within the scope of the research were analyzed using narrative and content analysis. The findings of the research revealed that the Baby Boomers generation played 35 different games during their childhood. It was found that Generation Y played 34 different games, nine of which were games passed down from the Baby Boomers generation. It was determined that Generation Alpha children played 13 different games, eight of which were passed down from Generation Y. It was concluded that only two games were commonly played by and transferred across all three generations.
