Özet (EN)
This study aims to examine the relationship between the psychological resilience levels of academic staff working in all faculties/colleges/institutes/vocational schools affiliated to the Presidency of Yozgat Bozok University and work-family life conflicts. The study is cross-sectional in type, and a face-to-face survey was conducted with 549 academicians in 2025. Data were collected using the Sociodemographic Questionnaire, Adult Psychological Resilience Scale (YPSÖ) and Work-Family Life Conflict Scale (WFL). Permission from the Presidency and ethics committee approval were obtained for the study. It was analyzed using SPSS 26.0 software. ANOVA and ANCOVA tests were applied in the analysis of the data. Of the academicians working at the university, 59.9% were female, 40.1% were male, 65% were married, the average age was 38.50, and the average number of children was 1.20. It has been revealed that academicians generally have good psychological resilience, but the mid-level averages of the IAYÇÖ (M=28.40, SD=7.50) show that work-family conflict is experienced. Psychological resilience reduces work-family conflict (r=-0.45, p<0.01). It shows that women score higher than men in both Work-to-Family Conflict and Family-to-Work Conflict (p<0.001). It has been concluded that young academicians with children experience more conflict (p=0.014). There is a significant relationship between the conflict status and psychological resilience and resilience of academicians according to their age, gender, academic title and seniority in the profession. In order to reduce work-family life conflicts of academicians, their psychological resilience should be protected and flexible working hours should be implemented especially for families with children or a crèche or kindergarten structure should be provided on the university campus. Group-oriented studies can be encouraged for personal and spiritual development.
