Abstract (EN)
As in many parts of Anatolia, weaving is an important part of the lives of the people of Yozgat. When the rugs, saddlebags and pillow faces woven by both the Turkmen and the local people are examined in general, certain motifs (burnings) unique to the region draw attention. These motifs, which are also encountered in the weavings in Yozgat, are known by the local naming of the local people. Considering both the use of color and the composition order, it is seen that there is an influence from the surrounding cities. Due to the fact that it was a city that gave and received immigration for a long time, the rugs of many different regions have reached the region, and besides this, there is an influence from the weavings of other regions. Carpet weaving is rarely seen in Yozgat, where mainly rugs, pillow covers and saddlebags are woven. Istar loom is the most used weaving loom. In the weavings of the region, the people, who are mainly engaged in animal husbandry, used the wool obtained from the sheep and goats they raised and the hair of the angora goat, and they still weave rugs, albeit in small numbers. However, an ıstar and a culhalık loom were also found. Weaving types in the region were observed as filik-tülü, carpet, rug, cicim-zili, sackcloth, girth, pillow face, saddlebag serge and cotton cloth weaving. 12 rugs, 12 saddlebags and 12 pillow faces from the weavings in the inventory of Yozgat Museum are given in tables and catalogued. Based on the compositional characteristics of the cataloged rugs, new designs were made. Keywords: Yozgat, Museum, Rug, Weaving
