The life of Ashik Hasan Kaplani from Yozgat, his art and musical analysis of his works

Although the ashıks and the ashık tradition have an important place in our history, they are not fully enlightened today. There are many ashık who grew up in different regions and whose names are unknown. Today, it has been seen that the value and importance given to this tradition have decreased compared to the past, therefore it is important to keep the tradition alive and transfer it to future generations through stıdies. Ashık Hasan Kaplani is one of our important ashık who grew up in Yozgat region, he maintains the culture of his region, and at the same time, he strives to continue the tradition of ashık and to pass it on to future generations. With this study, the works of Ashık Hasan Kaplani were analyzed musically. 26 of his works in his albums were notated. Afterward, it was evaluated in terms of melody type makam, tempo, metronome features, octave, strong voice, tonal center, and subjects. For the study, first of all, Ashık Hasan Kaplani was interviewed. Written and oral sources were used. The life of the minstrel was written in his own words and the information about the region where he lived was obtained firsthand. Information about the geographical and historical features of Yozgat region is also included. The data obtained after the analysis of the works were evaluated in the conclusion section. After that, suggestions that will be pioneers and contribute to future studies have been made. The full interview and photos taken are included in the appendix.
