Abstract (EN)

In this study, an Accelerator Driven System simulation has beenconducted in a computer programme called MCNPX. A cylindrical cupwith 92 cm radius and 250 cm long is used in the study. This cup ismade of steeling stell and has a wall thickness of 2 cm. It is examinedfour kinds of HGS representations in the study. The lead cylinder, thelead sphere, the tantalum cylinder and the tantalum sphere are thetargets. The cylindirical targets are 15 cm radius and 150 cm long. Thesphere targets are 29 cm radius. The targets have a sodium cooleraround them. In calculations target has been bombarted with protonbeam having 1 GeV energy and 10 mA current coming out of theaccelerator for neutron production. Using MCNPX computerprogramme, the number of neutrons, neutron and proton flux in targetand the region between the target and the cup and DPA and heating iscalculated for every single proton coming from the accelerator.Science Code : 218Key Words : Accelerator Driven System, spallation, MCNPXPage Number : 84Adviser : Prof. Dr. Başar ŞARER
