Abstract (EN)
In this study, the effect of different amounts of clay addition to the blast furnace slag and magnesite refining waste mixture on usability of the materials as building material was investigated. The cylindrical samples produced from the mixtures were sintered at 1100, 1150 and 1200 ° C for 2 hours. Firing shrinkage, bulk density, apparent porosity, water absorption, freezing and efflorescence properties of sintered samples were investigated. In addition, X-ray diffraction (XRD) with phase analysis, optical microscope and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) were performed. Thus, the effects of clay addition on the properties of ceramics produced from blast furnace slag and magnesite refining waste mixtures and their usability as a building material were investigated.
