Abstract (EN)
The generation of magnetic fields by high voltage power transmission lines causes alternating current (AC) interference on the pipeline. This external interference caused corrosion in the pipeline system and led to both operating losses and economic costs in the pipeline system. In this thesis; corrosion and corrosion formation in steel pipelines, cathodic protection systems which are a method of protection from corrosion, interventions on the pipelines and sources of interference. The methods and mechanisms of alternating current attempts are explained. AC corrosion and AC corrosion mechanism that can develop by the effect of alternating current interferences are expressed. In addition, methods for disposing of AC enterprises are also mentioned. In addition to cathodic protection systems on the pipeline, in line with the report including the applications to eliminate the effects of the AC interference effects that may occur in the pipeline in the Afyon region, the productions were carried out in addition to the cathodic protection systems. Measurements were taken from the measuring points on the field with data loggers to evaluate the adequacy of the realized production to eliminate the AC interference effects on the pipeline. The measurement results were evaluated in accordance with the relevant standards. As a result of the evaluations, it was understood that the productions performed to eliminate the AC interference effects on the pipeline were insufficient. It was understood that the AC enterprises on the pipeline could be disposed of with additional manufactures.
