Özet (EN)
In this study, Ricardo Engine that is a single-cylinder research engine was used. Combustion products and unburned hydrocarbon concentrations in the cylinder were investigated experimentally during flame period on expansion stroke. To sample in the cylinder, Model GSD-10 fast response gas sampling system which is a production of GUSSONS cooperation was used. System mounting was completed. And system set-up was installed. Engine was operated 1/3 throttle valve opening during the all experiments. Using electrical dynamometer, the engine was operated at two different load positions. Experiments were repeated for three different compression ratios (r=6-7-8). The content of this study consists of two main parts. In the first part of the study, the high speed gas sampling valve was mounted to the Capelec gas analysis instrument directly and samplings were done at intended crank shaft angle continuously. Exhaust gas samples were taken for 10 degree intervals after spark plug ignited the mixture in the cylinder. Samples were taken during 60 degree of crank shaft angle after the spark plug ignited. In the second case, gas samples were taken by using glass tube. The effect of compression ratio and engine load positions on combustion were analyzed and all results were plotted. End of the experiments, combustion products of CO and unburned hydrocarbon concentration were plotted. The second stage of the project, the samples of combustion gases for predetermined crank angle ranges were taken from the hole, which is opened opposite side of ignition plug hole on cylinder head, by using electromagnetic gas sampling valve of high speed gas sampling equipment SOKKEN GSD10. The samples stored in the tubes were analyzed by using GC (with FID) equipment. The relationship between the engine parameter and the combustion mechanism in the cylinder were discussed.
