Abstract (EN)
This study titled " The Helm Statıon Area Of Fast Commuter From Hıgh-Speed Motoryachts" has been prepared as a "Master's Thesis" under the roof of Maltepe University Institute of Science and Technology, Department of Interior Architecture. In this study, the history and development of the "fast commuter" typology, which has the highest speed and performance of the motor yacht universe in the high-speed marine vehicles, its main features such as hull geometry, propulsion systems, material and general layout are examined, and the helm stations are examined in the context of human-machine-ergonomics. By examining the command spaces of the yachts designed by the fast commuter builders who are leaders in the industry, it is aimed to underline the common points that interior architecture and ship and yacht design are in close relationship and to be a supportive study for the resources that can be created on the subject. In the first part of the study, the problem, purpose and scope, the sources, methods and techniques used in the research, and the limitations of the research are explained. In the 2nd part, the definition and typologies of high-speed marine vessels are examined in the universe of motor yachts. The 3th chapter summarizes the historical development, hull geometry, propulsion system, material and general layout of the fast commuter typology of motor yachts. In the 4th and 5th chapters, the command spaces of the yachts designed by the leading fast suburban manufacturers in the sector are compared by examining the fast suburban command space layout and steering station ergonomics. In the 6th chapter, which is the conclusion and discussion section, general evaluations are made in the light of the findings obtained and recommendations are presented.
