Özet (EN)

Boost type dc/dc converters are widely used at the front end of several power electronic systems to obtain a high dc bus voltage, and to bring the line current in the same phase with the line voltage. By increasing switching frequency; higher power density and faster transient response can be achieved but in that case electromagnetic interference (EMI) and radio frequency interference (RFI) noises and switching losses increase as well. In need of solving these problems of hard switching, the "Soft Switching" (SS) concept has been presented. Generally techniques can be classified as zero voltage switching (ZVS), zero current switching (ZCS), zero voltage transition (ZVT) and zero current transition (ZCT) techniques. In this thesis, SS techniques are generally examined and some examples in literature are presented. "Proposed Soft-Switching Boost Converter", is analyzed in detail and simulated. The results of the simulation are verified by a prototype of a 50 kHz switching frequency and 80W, 100W and 120W output power boost converter.
