Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to investigate the effects of lavender and cinnamon powder added to the feed of laying quails on performance, egg quality and egg shelf life.. During the eight-week trial, it was determined that there were differences between the groups in terms of feed consumption, egg weight and egg production (P<0.05) and feed conversion ratio was similar in the groups (P>0.05). Egg quality characteristics examined in the study, egg weight, shell weight and egg yolk L, a and b values were found to be statistically significant among the groups (P<0.05), while albumen index, shape index, yolk index, shell breaking resistance and Haugh Unit were found to be insignificant. It was determined that cinnamon and lavender powder and their combinations had an effect on egg shelf life and that the added additives, egg yolk peroxide value, TBA content and egg white pH values had an effect on increasing shelf life. As a result, it was concluded that cinnamon, lavender and cinnamon+lavender combinations did not have a negative effect on performance in laying quails and could be effective in extending the shelf life of eggs.
