Abstract (EN)
In this work, compressive, flexural and abrasion resistance of concretecontaining Yumurtalık-Sugözü fly ash were investigated. In the work, concrete mixtures were prepared using different amounts of fly ash to obtaindifferent mixes were prepared with superplasticizer using fixed water-cementratio. These concrete mixtures were tested, the results were compared witheach other. Using fly ashes are employed to provide savings on amount ofcement. In general, it has been determined that the stronger the concrete isthe higher the abrasion resistance. The results show that a fly ash concretehaving a similar strength value to that of conventional concrete can beproduced at a 10% (by mass) replacement of cement by fly ash is provided. The relation between the strength characteristic of concrete containing fly ashwas found to be similar to that of conventional concrete. Based on dataobtained from laboratory study, it was concluded that the current fly ashmight replace the cement ratio at about 10%-40% and it was concluded thatthe concrete studied can be used for road pavements when it is properlydesigned.Key Words : Fly ash, Strength, Abrasion
